Team

DocuChain’s team has built a transformative Digital Cognate platform

The DocuChain team has the range of skills, the grit and persistence, and the life experience that helped us to develop and deliver our PaaS all in under 24 months.

Our team has exceptional technology credentials in machine learning, encryption, system architecture and delivering service excellence using channels and a full service, end-to-end delivery ecosystem.

Our team has the optimal balance of scientific, technology, selling, marketing and operational skills for a high growth start-up delivering B2B enterprise services.

Most of us have been through multiple start-ups – some successful, others not – and acquiring a lot of experience and skills over the years, but most importantly, we always recognise and admit what we don’t know. The further we go along this journey, the more we realise how much there is to learn.  But therein is the magic of any successful start-up: it’s a journey of growth and self-exploration, and the team gets tested every day.

Philip Leone – CEO, Co-founder, Executive Director

Philip, a Canadian, has lived internationally for the last forty years. He started his technology career with Bell Canada and Nortel Networks including country management in four countries.  He is the co-founder of several successful start-ups in three countries.  Philip understands the vital role of SMEs in innovation and re-balancing the deployment of capital into local enterprises. Philip solves real-world problems by translating technology into viable business offerings; develops partnerships that drive scale; relentlessly pursues contracts; and creates agile teams that create value for customers, investors, and themselves.  His team at DocuChain have driven the evolution of the Digital Cognate platform and its growing ecosystem of technology and delivery partners. Philip often takes the contrarian view.

“I thrive as part of an agile team that creates and builds a new enterprise from the ground up. After 40 years, it still gives me a real kick!  Local enterprises create and use economic, social and sustainability metrics - that generate lasting value.  The globalization sermon no longer resonates as truthful or logical.  Results are skewed to serve a narrow band of interests. Local disenfranchisement occurs with ever more centralised and opaque control of our own value and identity”.

Lesley Leone, Co-founder, Compliance, Executive Director

Started her technology career with Nortel Networks focusing on product marketing, channel support, channel training and human resource development, while completing a Business degree. Self-employed since 1994 and is a co-founder with Philip of several SMEs.

Our team recognised that both legacy and cloud infrastructures were designed with too much noise and too many features to deliver the laser focus for performance-based outcomes.  Best practice, internal governance, regulatory compliance are narrow bands of processes, people and data that must be on “railway tracks”.  There was also a requirement of a single source of truth for audit, benchmarking for improvement, and dispute resolution.

We quickly began to coalesce a number of options around this business problem.  We realised that we needed partnerships that delivered trust in the marketplace and that provided the breadth and depth for delivery excellence.  Our product has evolved and changed direction, because we listened to others who understood better than we did where there was real pain and how it could be removed.  Our team made an early decision to develop delivery partnerships with companies who added value to our proposition and technology platform – providing agility, speed to market and utilising the expertise of other proven market participants. Partnerships accelerate market entry.

We understand the economic use of capital to create shareholder value and have a realistic perspective on the size & scope of the market opportunity.  We are here to prove our worth, to share our ideas, to create wealth for our team, investors, and most importantly our partners and their customers.
